Frequently Asked Questions
Polypropylene bags are a common product used to transport goods from one space to another. They are designed to be durable, puncture-resistant, and able to withstand the movement they will endure in the process. PP bags can hold large weight capacities and give you the confidence you need when transporting your products. You can purchase them to be UV resistant if they will be subject to long durations of sunlight. A perk of this material being used is lightweight, not adding too much extra weight to your package. There are different types that you can choose from, such as:
- Laminated
- Paper
- UV
- Standard
PP woven bags are used as sandbags for people who live in an area that experiences flooding. They are packed with sand and stacked in a bricklaying pattern around their home to prevent water from entering their home. It has been found to be a remarkably successful way to prevent major damage from occurring. Sandbags are also used in other industries, such as the construction field. Some examples of different ways that PP bags are used:
- Food Storage: You probably don't even realize that you see these bags regularly in the grocery stores. These bags often hold your oranges, apples, avocados, and more. Some of the dry goods that you can find in these bags are rice, flour, and grain.
- Reusable Grocery Bags: Have you seen those bags for sale in stores, usually at the register? They are reusable shopping bags. These bags are typically decorated with the store logo, bright colors, or designs.
- Animal Feed: The laminated PP bags are used for animal feed. Such as pig feed, horse grain, goat grain, chicken scratch, dog food, cat food, and cat little.
- Landscaping Products: laminated PP bags are used for packaging landscaping products, such as soil, fertilizer, etc.
The bags cannot be considered waterproof, but they are water-resistant. The woven PP bags are designed in a woven, or mesh, design. That means there are tiny little
holes that water could possibly come through.
The good thing is that with the mesh design, water is also able to escape. The products stored inside of the bags should be able to air out. The laminated option doesn't have the
same mesh appearance but is considered a water-resistant option.
One of the great benefits of polypropylene is that it is considered to be an eco-friendly product. It is always a good idea to choose a good product for the environment and help you produce less waste. If it is still in good condition when you are done using it, you can even recycle it for another practical use for yourself.
